Extra Mile America Foundation

Going the extra mile is doing more than the normal...more than expected. Going the extra mile is extending ourselves in our efforts and our communication. Going the extra mile is getting back up after we've been knocked down, despite whatever has happened, and saying, "I still choose the very best for myself!"

The Extra Mile America Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that encourages positive attitude and action by empowering individuals, organizations, and cities to "go the extra mile." Through public campaigns, speaking engagements, and partnerships with nonprofits, we empower people to apply the extra-mile principle, reach their goals, and live a more self-directed life.

I made it to Ft. Wayne, Indiana!

Winner of the 2009 All-America City Award, Ft. Wayne is city #10 of the 21 Extra Mile America cities. I am looking forward to spending time here.

The road from Chicago to Ft. Wayne has been great. Although the riding has been easier regarding traffic levels, there is no doubt it is taking me much longer to pedal the necessary 60-70 miles than it did at the beginning of the Tour. At the end of the day now, I feel as if I am pedaling in slowwwwww motion.

The last two days, I had the privilege of being interviewed by a couple of very gracious reporters interested in the Tour in Plymouth (Carol) and Warsaw (Dave). It's those interviews that help keep me pedaling at the end of the day...reinforcing the fact that the "extra mile" message is getting out there.
