"Uh oh..."
Today was a tough day for meeting up with my support vehicle. Because the trail I'm on is non-motorized, and often way in the middle of what seems to be the rawest of land, it's been a challenge to connect with Julian.
Today was our worst day.
99% of the time out here, it seems as if there is no cell coverage, and it's hard to find each other. Today, I missed Julian at both designated resting spots and went the length of the day's route without him. With the help of a small miracle, he finally found me out on the trail in a place called Little Orleans. There are really just a couple of buildings so that gives you a sense of how small it is.
I'll tell you, when you go almost five hours without connecting with your support vehicle out here, your mind races. "Uh oh...now what do I do?" seemed to be the most popular question steering its way through my mind.
Today was a very, very long day.
